Lamia ( 1909 ) ist ein ölgemälde der engländer Pre-Raphaelite maler john william waterhouse . Sie war auch als unhold bekannt , in form einer schönen frau , junge männer verführt, um sie zu verschlingen . es war diese letztere inkarnation von lamia als schöne frau, die john keats dazu inspirierte, sein gedicht lamia zu schreiben , veröffentlicht in 1820 . waterhouse stützt seine darstellung von lamia auf Keats' gedicht .
